It all started in 1977 with our grandparents Arturo Garcia & Rosalina Cervantes–they immigrated from Mexico to the Bay Area with an ambition to build something fruitful that could be passed down for generations to come. They carried with them an abundance of old family recipes rooted in the rich history and distinct cuisine of Puebla, Mexico.
After all these years of working within the establishments of our parents, we decided it was time to create something new. Sun of Wolf was born here–from the ardent desires, dreams, and blessings from our parents and their parents. With this project, we aim to embody the core of our Mexican-American upbringing, personal tastes, and experiences while also paying respect to the resilience and tenacity of our ancestors.
The symbol of the Wolf is a call to the strength of these family ties. We would not be where we are today without the support and love from not only our parents and grandparents, but from the community we grew up with. We are forever in gratitude to all of you, without which this would not be possible. We are four cousins, Bay Area born and raised, who are excited to showcase our passion for one of the most simple pleasures we have in this life–a good meal among friends!
“For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”
-Rudyard Kipling
